Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) in North New South Wales
About ADRAADRA is a Christian, humanitarian agency that creates opportunities, empowers people and shares hope. So, what is there to know about ADRA in NNSW? What does ADRA stand for anyway? And what has ADRA got to do with me? These are common questions people ask when they hear the name ADRA. ADRA stands for the Adventist Development and Relief Agency.
We are a Seventh-day Adventist organisation providing relief in disasters, as well as organising development projects to provide better lives for people of all ages worldwide. Our focus in NNSW is from Woy Woy in the South, north to the Queensland border and west to Bourke. However, ADRA Australia also focuses on countries within the South Pacific. This area includes countries such as Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Fiji and Vanuatu. ADRA Australia also runs development projects in other regions such as Africa and Asia. In NNSW, there are approximately 30 humanitarian projects running that obtain support from ADRA funds.
If you would like to volunteer and be part of one of these projects or help begin a new one contact your local Seventh-day Adventist Church or contact us.
But why do you need to know all this? Because we think you can help us help the needy people in these countries. We would like to encourage you to support the work that ADRA finds so challenging. We need enthusiastic people like you to give whatever you can to bring hope to the people in less fortunate countries. You may think you can't do much, but if everyone puts in their little bit, we'll be sailing! We hope you will become as excited as we are about helping others, and that you will have fun in the process.
